Over time, the structure of our skin breaks down and the scaffolding elements (the deeper layers) that once supported the surface of the skin no longer do. This means that we develop sagging and wrinkling as part of a slow degenerative process.
Plasma treatment for the face and body uses plasma gas to create micro trauma to the upper and deeper layers of the skin, resulting in improved collagen production and renewed appearance of the skin.
How Does It Work?
Using a device called a plasma pen, a plasma plume is emitted that inflicts a controlled, superficial burn to the upper layer of the skin. The small electrical arc leaves a very small brown mark without causing bleeding or damage to the surrounding tissue.
The cells of the connective tissue are stimulated to produce collagen as well as elastin which determine the elasticity of the skin. The result is skin tightening and a more youthful appearance.
Does it Hurt?
The only effect that can be felt during the procedure is a slight burning sensation as the plasma pen heats up the skin. However, we usually apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort to the patient.
Which Body Areas can you Treat with Plasma Fibroblast Facial?
The plasma fibroblast facial lift procedure can be applied to the following areas or features:
- Crow’s feet
- Lower and upper eyelid bags, sagging, and lines
- Lines around the mouth
- Frown and forehead lines
- Neck tightening
- Fine wrinkles and lines on the chest and neck
- Smoker lines
Are there any Aftereffects of the Procedure?
In the first few days following the procedure, you’ll most likely experience some swelling and redness due to skin irritation. We will provide you with post-treatment balm that you should apply to the afflicted areas.
If you see any dark spots on your skin, you needn’t worry; these are natural dots that will go away on their own (it usually takes around 5-7 days). As for makeup, you’ll be allowed to apply mineral makeup 24-48 hours after the procedure, depending on how quickly your skin will heal. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, you’ll need to apply Sun protection as well because the skin will be sensitive prior to healing.
